Be different, Be you

I've been thinking lately. Honestly I think after I read my friend status in facebook. She wrote something like " I bought clothes at local market, everyone is wearing the same. I bought clothes at ZARA or Mango, everyone also wear the same. " And then something comes in my mind...
I think that you can be different wearing the same clothes with everyone. It depends on how you mix and match it. To your creativity. To you. How you want to look that day. Or how you want people knows you.
For me, I just want to be myself. My style, ME...

My daily outfits #3

Wearing all my fav colour in one, yes that's what I wear today. And I've found it so interesting, if you think that the way you dress daily is a fashion playground. Just like my friends Lenny Agustin, one of the talented fashion designer, wrote in her book, that fashion is her playground. And I think that is true. To me, fashion is what you are, what your style, and that's makes you unique.

White flower

A few days ago, my mom was organize the closet, and she find the white bustier that I've made back then. I was inspired by Coco Chanel flower and I tried to apply it on my bustier with additional details.

The Singhasari...

I'm back. I've been not writing for a while. That's because there was a holiday this week and we ( I mean me and my family) were having a real good family time. We went to Batu, and stayed at The singhasari resort, which was a perfect place for those who need a total refreshin'.  Premium facilities, such as a swimming pool, a jacuzzy ( my  all time favourite), a spa ( i haven't had a chance to try it), fitness center, a basket ball and tennis court, a jogging track, even they have 9 holes mini golf. Oh... there is also a kids club, where you can play xbox game and home theatre. See.... that's perfect.
Curious?

I made blue necklace and red necklace. Both were made from cloth and I sew it by my self.  And for the final touch, I added some toys from my boys collections. (Sorry guys, mommy borrowed your toys)

Sandals...Oh My sandals...

I have this plain black sandals, which I wear everyday when I walk around my house. But one day, when I look at it, I thought maybe I have to do something with my sandals, so they don't look so plain and boring.
I took out some of my batik remaining residual and begin to make it look different.
So here's the result...

And the gut news is... some people after they look my sandals, they ask me to make some for them :)

My daily outfits #2

Basicly what I wear everday is the expression of what I felt in the morning. The morning mood will affect to what I wear, what colour I choose, what make up I put on, etc. And today I chose the bright colour for my outfits

Sweaty Photo Shoot

I've been asked by Tunjungan Plaza to make clothes using jeans. They want to shoot my designs for the Surabaya Fashion Parade champaign, which is the biggest fashion event in Surabaya. There will be a 4 days, full of fashion show everyday from many designers and famous brands.
This photo shoot was a very sweaty moment. Taken by Ryan Tandya, which is one of the most talented photographer I've ever known, the shoot take place on the rooftop of Tunjungan Plaza. The sun was so so so hot, and no wind at all. But the models were very cooperative, so this shoot was going well.

Batik Lovers Only

Batik is both an art and a craft, which is becoming more popular and well known in the West as a wonderfully creative medium. The art of decorating cloth in this way, using wax and dye, has been practised for centuries. In Java, Indonesia, batik is part of an ancient tradition, and some of the finest batik cloth in the world is still made there. The word batik originates from the Javanese tik and means to dot.

Lately, the school, the office workers, etc wear batik once in a week. Even the government set a national day for batik. Before batik is not this famous, there was a strong statement in people's mind, that batik is for old people, for village people. That you are not "in" when you wear batik.
But I disagree with all that statement. I think that we're all can be look modern when we wear batik. Nowadays with batik, we can go to the movie, school, work, dinner, even to party. So I design some tops  and dresses using batik materials.  I can show you that with batik, we can be unique yet modern :)
